This is an odd series, but I like the world. The first book was a bit meh for me, not entirely sure why. Perhaps because it was an intro to the world with lots of backstory.It is hard to describe this book other than to say BDSM with a religious spiritual overlay. I enjoyed the psychological study of our two main characters. The book was well written. The action and mystery was well paced.Keep in mind that this is an erotic book, so if intense sex scenes bother you don't read. However, I feel that they were necessary for the character developments.
