I have re-read this book at 7 times since July and it is one of my favs. No idea why I said three stars...changing my mind!-----------This was a nice, simple story about a man whose family and lovers always under estimate. I really liked that Whiskey just got Patrick and wanted to help him from the start. The only thing that bothered me ( and made this go from a 4 to 3) was the one dimensional character of the father. I felt like we were supposed to think of him as the "bad guy" from the first chapter, and his attitude at the end seemed too perfect. I also didn't feel the action of the end seemed very realistic. That being said, I really enjoyed the book and I loved the character development, it seems to be the author's strength.
