I really did not like this book as much as I wanted. A huge caveat being that I read it quickly and was constantly interrupted by my husband and a guest, so I wonder if I re-read the book I would enjoy it more.In book one, Emory seemed like such an interesting person so I was looking forward to this one. How he became so unhinged without his mate after meeting here was interesting and a bit mystical. But in this book he's just bland and your typical, "grrr my female, must mate!".Mary was just rather bland. In book 1, we had Ava, who was has a paranormal gift. So I was expecting something special with Mary. But what do we get? A rather boring (although nice) female who spends a great deal of time cowering.I will try this book again. I do not hate it, I just did not enjoy it as much as the first book. I am looking forward to the witch book (at least it looks like they will go that way) and the vampire female book.
